YOU WILL LEARN

  • How different products are produced using different print reproduction processes including flexography, gravure, screen printing, offset lithography and digital printing.
  • The journey that a printed job must take, from customer to design to finished product, along with roles and responsibilities of everyone involved.
  • Tools used in prepress including input devices, output devices, and software.
  • Pixels, image resolution, and screening.
  • Color basics and color theory, color deficiency, the additive and subtractive color system, communicating color, and proper color viewing.
  • Paper size and weight, paper classifications, and ink formulation and types.
  • Printing processes including flexography, gravure, screen printing, offset lithography, and digital printing
  • Postpress operations and how they are used to complete and add pizzazz to the final product.
  • Cost estimating, budgeted hourly rates (BHRs), what a cost center is, and how job costs are determined.
